Lapis Lazuli: Lapis has been a prized gemstone since antiquity. Trade in the stone is ancient enough for lapis jewelry to have been found at Predynastic Egyptian sites, and as beads at neolithic burial sites. It is a relatively rare semi-precious stone and the best quality Lapis will have flecks of golden pyrite distributed throughout. This stone is at its best in larger sizes, where its intense color and golden veins can really shine.
