We are constantly acquiring new materials to fabricate interesting stones our customers (that’s you guys!) can incorporate into new designs. Lately, we’ve been on a jasper / opaque stone craze. Look what’s coming down the pipelines!
Ocean jasper comes from only one place in the world off the shores of Madagascar. It can only be mined a few months out of the year when the tide is low enough as this stone is found submerged under water. This material can range from opaque to translucent. “Eyes” or orbs and druzy vugs are common in the patterning throughout. The colors range from creams; to greens; to oranges; to yellows; to reds.
Agua Nueva is a high quality Mexican agate found near the famous Laguna site in Northern Mexico. Colors can include ‘cool’ tones like pinks and purples as well as ‘warm’ tones like gold and orange.
This is a cuprite and chrysocolla blend from the Sonoran Desert. The green/blue in this stone is to die for! Such a gorgeous and interesting material to work with. I cannot wait to see the finished cabs!
WILDHORSE PICTURE JASPER
Mined in the Owyhee Mountains on the border of Idaho and Oregon, this picture jasper shows a beautiful desert landscape. Gorgeous shades of brown/rust against a blue sky. The scenes created in the new cabs will be wonderful!
ROCKY BUTTE PICTURE JASPER
Another American jasper, this beauty hails from western Oregon. Once again, the beautiful blue ‘sky’ displaying varying shades of blue with a rust / orange rind is such a pretty contrast.
STARRY NIGHT PICTURE JASPER
Love the night sky scene in these jaspers. Some even have a ‘Van Gogh’ feeling to them. We had these a few years ago and they’ve sold out since. Now, we’re restocking them. Supply is limited!
Hope you’re as excited about these new guys as we are! – Bex
